Beth Secker memorial walk arrives in Bristol – Archive News
Monday 20 Aug 2007
Five friends of Beth Secker arrived in her hometown of Bristol on Sunday 19 August, completing a 16-day memorial fundraising walk from Liverpool.
The five were raising funds for Vitalise Sandpipers, where Beth was a volunteer before her tragic death in a car accident in Scotland in November 2006.
The walkers were joined on the last day of their walk by Beth's mother Sarah Doyle. After spending a quiet moment at Beth’s graveside they moved on to the family home in Congresbury where they were treated to a welcome barbecue.
Beth was honoured by Vitalise in June 2007 with special posthumous Recognition Award during National Volunteers Week.
Beth's mother Sarah Doyle said: “I was so touched that in her short life she made such an impression on so many people. Beth had a full life and will leave a big hole in a lot of people’s lives, her family, school, university and work friends”
