Corporate Volunteering and Team Building
Vitalise greatly values its corporate partnerships and has developed corporate volunteer days to benefit both Vitalise and those that volunteer.
From the start we have always involved volunteers in our work, recognising the added value they bring. Most are residential volunteers at our five accessible Centres and might stay for one week or even up to one year, providing practical support and friendship to our disabled guests throughout their stay.
However, as an alternative to residential volunteering we encourage companies to take part in team projects lasting for one or two days.
Recent volunteer experiences
What kind of projects are available?
All projects are tailored to the number of volunteers available, their respective skills and proximity to a Vitalise centre (Nottingham, Southport, Chigwell, Southampton and Bodmin).
Volunteer days aim to be motivational, good for team building, hard work and fun! Some great examples of how corporate volunteers have spent their day are:
- Creating new landscaping around the pond at Vitalise Jubilee Lodge
- Building a large accessible greenhouse for guests to use during horticulture week
- Gardening, building new pathways and general maintenance
- Organising an afternoon of entertainment for our guests
Your own personal schedule
Vitalise, in partnership with your company, will put together a schedule for the day's activities so that all volunteers are clear about their duties and get the most from their day. The day is fully structured and includes refreshment breaks and lunch in our centre restaurant or a barbeque in the gardens.
All volunteers will also be rewarded with a special certificate and team photo that can be displayed to show your achievements.
Expenses and employee fundraising
Corporate volunteer days inevitably have some associated costs. Therefore we ask that each volunteer raises a minimum of £50 to cover the costs of materials, lunch and all refreshments. This can be raised through corporate sponsorship and/or employee fundraising.
Participants may raise funds for their expenses through holding events at their place of work prior to the volunteer day. Successful events can include auctions, raffles, dress down days, quiz nights, lotteries, etc. We can supply Vitalise t-shirts and running vests, balloons, pens, pop-up stands, certificates, literature and promotional material. We will also send you a fundraising pack containing information, advice and top tips for successful fundraising.
