What previous runners have said
"It was an absolute pleasure to run on your behalf. In fact, thinking about the people I might be helping really carried me through a lot of miles - especially the final 4!"
- Zoe Walkinshaw (2010)
"Thank-you to all at Vitalise for giving me the opportunity to run. The whole event was a fantastic experience and something I will remember forever."
- Duncan Clarke (2010)
Thanks very much for letting me run for Vitalise and hosting me at the post-race reception. I had a great time during the race and it was great to have Vitalise supporting during the run. I thought the post-race reception was brilliant. A big thank you to all at Vitalise, I think it was really well organised from your part, from receiving information and race shirt pre-marathon to receiving photos afterwards."
- Matt Lochead (2010)
“Sunday [the day of the event] was an amazing day and the reception after was a lovely touch, think I’m hooked now!!”
- Laura Heavey (2008)
Why choose to run for Vitalise?
By running for Vitalise and raising essential funds for us, you will enable us to continue providing much-needed short breaks for disabled people and carers.
- 1 in 4 people in the UK is affected by disability – either they are disabled themselves or they care for someone who is.
- Many people with disabilities have been unable to take a break in years because it can be an immensely complicated and costly process.
- We help thousands of disabled people each year with short breaks and other services, but there are many thousands more in desperate need of support.
- We receive no government fuunding. In 2008-9 we spent almost £1.8 million subsidising breaks for disabled people and carers at our Centres. This money came solely from our fundraising activities.
We have to make every penny count and we need the support and generosity of our fundraisers to help us make sure that disabled people can exercise the freedom and choice most of us take for granted.
