This weekend will be a great opportunity to try out new outdoor activities in the stunning surroundings of the English Lake District. Based in the Lakeland town of Keswick, there will be introductory sessions in tandem cycling, walking and Canadian canoeing with instruction from experienced activity leaders.
To act as a front rider on a tandem, you should be a confident cyclist, however no previous experience is necessary for other activities, and the relaxed pace will give you time to practice your new skills, build friendships and enjoy the great outdoors.
Throughout the weekend a Sighted Guide Trainer will be available to offer helpful advice and information to new sighted guides on the best techniques in guiding a visually impaired person in each activity.
Our accommodation will be at The Coach House at Old Windebrowe, part of a barn conversion owned by the Calvert Trust, which was the one-time home of William Wordsworth. This rural location on the outskirts of Keswick is the perfect setting for this weekend activity introduction.
