Join us to discover the hidden secrets of some of England’s finest stately homes, and wander landscaped gardens and estates at leisure.
Visit the neo-classical mansion of Tatton Park which boasts extensive gardens with lakeside and woodland paths, deer park, medieval Old Hall and 1930s rare breeds farm. The house has been used in the filming of television adaptations of Brideshead Revisited and Sherlock Holmes.
Little Moreton Hall is one of the finest examples of a timber-framed manor house with its own moat. The hall dates from the 16th century and the Long Gallery is an impressive display of Tudor wealth.
The most majestic building we will visit is the spectacular Lyme Park, featured in the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice as the home of Mr Darcy, which enjoys stunning vistas across open parkland with a rose garden, deer park and woodland estate.
We stay at Hollin Hall Hotel, a beautiful 19th century Victorian house, set in lovely grounds on the edge of the Peak District; an ideal base from which to enjoy the rich heritage of Cheshire.
