Respite and Short Breaks Information
At Vitalise we believe that eveyone deserves a break and we offer respite options with real freedom and choice, to disabled people and carers alike.
We aim to provide an alternative to traditional respite care by offering breaks in a relaxed, holiday environment, but with nursing care and personal support available.
Our trained staff and volunteers will make sure your break suits your individual needs, whether you want to relax and unwind or join in with the many activities on offer.
Take a look at our UK and European Breaks brochure
Our new brochure features details of the short breaks we have on offer for the year ahead. It lists UK short breaks at our five accessible Centres as well as breaks abroad with our Vitalise Europe service.
You can download the brochure on this page or simply browse through all the breaks information on the website.
Our three Rs: Relax, Respite, Revitalise
Relax – it’s your choice how to spend your day, staying in or going out or joining in activities – and you can make a different choice each day.
Respite – get away from your daily routine and do something different – and that goes for carers as well as guests.
Revitalise – come back from your break refreshed and with a new enthusiasm for life.
Where to take your break
Vitalise has five purpose-built accessible Centres across the UK and we also offer accessible self-catering lodges in Cornwall.
Our Centres have restaurants, bars and other leisure facilities. Three Centres have swimming pools, and all have lovely gardens. All Centres offer personal support and four provide 24-hour care on-call.
To find out exactly what each Centre has to offer visit the Our Centres section.
Our guests
Vitalise guests come from all over the UK and further afield. Vitalise has cared for people with over 150 different health conditions, including cerebral palsy, cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis (MS), head and spinal injuries. Vitalise welcomes carers who want to accompany guests.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide appropriate care for people who are bed-dependent, have uncontrolled epilepsy, or mental health difficulties.
Our Vitalise Churchtown Centre is the only one of our Centres to provide services for people with learning difficulties and also caters for both children and adults.
