Vitalise (formerly the Winged Fellowship Trust) is a national charity providing essential breaks for people with disabilities and carers. Vitalise provides around 5,000 breaks each year for people with disabilities and carers at three fully accessible UK centres in Chigwell, Southampton and Southport.
Vitalise’s centres provide 24-hour care on-call and personal support in a relaxed, holiday environment. The centres’ experienced staff can cater for over 150 different disabilities and, in addition to specialist nursing care, each guest is accompanied by a volunteer who provides companionship and support.
Vitalise’s centres organise hundreds of activities and excursions throughout the year, with evening entertainment laid on. Dozens of different themed weeks focus on particular activities, allowing guests to enjoy activities that would otherwise be very difficult or even impossible for them to participate in. There are also special weeks for people with Alzheimer’s and their partners.
Vitalise works in partnership with a number of charities including the Alzheimer’s Society, the Stroke Association, Carers Trust and the MS Society. Vitalise is a member of Holidays for All, a consortium of accessible holiday providers, and Tourism for All, an accessible travel information service.
