London Triathlon

The Mazda London Triathlon took place over the weekend of 9 and 10 August 2008 at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London's Docklands.

Vitalise's super-fit team of 14 tri-athletes swam, biked and ran through the showers to help us raise vital funds towards our work providing essential breaks for disabled people and carers.Vitalise runners in action

Andrea Mills, Vitalise's Events Co-ordinator said:
"It was a fantastic weekend with a great sporting atmosphere. After the event we were pleased to have the chance to meet a few of our tri-athletes in person, at The Fox pub, for well-deserved refreshments after all their hard work."

A huge thank you to all of Team Vitalise for your hard work and dedication in both training and fundraising.

Why run a triathlon for Vitalise?

Most people take holidays for granted. But many people with disabilities have been unable to have a holiday in years because a short break, or even a day out, can be an immensely complicated and costly process with limited options.

Vitalise provides a much-needed alternative to the respite breaks traditionally available to disabled people. Our accessible UK Centres offer short breaks in a holiday environment, with specialist nursing care and personal support available, whilst our Vitalise Holidays team organise holidays for visually impaired people, accompanied by sighted guides.

We believe carers need a break too. At our Vitalise Centres we provide the care, so carers can take much-needed time off from the 24 hours a day, 365 days a year duty of caring for a loved one.

Providing specialist care is costly and we receive no government funding. We rely on the support and generosity of fundraisers like you to make sure we can reach out to all those who need a break.
