"Training for and running the London marathon was a fantastic experience. Had I not been raising money for Vitalise, I'm sure I'd have given up...so thank you for giving me the inspiration, determination and drive to finish what I had started"

Why choose to run for Vitalise?

By running for Vitalise and raising essential funds for us, you will enable us to continue providing much-needed short breaks for disabled people and carers.
  • One in four people in the UK is affected by disability – either they are disabled themselves or they care for someone who is.
  • Many people with disabilities have been unable to take a break in years because it can be an immensely complicated and costly process.
  • We help thousands of disabled people each year with short breaks and other services, but there are many thousands more in desperate need of support.
  • We receive no government fuunding. In 2008-9 we spent almost £1.8 million subsidising breaks for disabled people and carers at our Centres. This money came solely from our fundraising activities.

We have to make every penny count and we need the support and generosity of our fundraisers to help us make sure that disabled people can exercise the freedom and choice most of us take for granted.
