Sighted guides are an essential part of Vitalise Holidays. You could make the difference between a visually impaired person having a much needed break or no holiday at all.

Not only that, but as a sighted guide you will be adding a whole new dimension to the holiday for our visually impaired customers, whether you’re describing the Sistine Chapel, navigating the Lochs of Scotland or narrating the thrilling last moments of a Cup Final. You could even find that you’re looking at things in a new way yourself.

So becoming a sighted guide enhances the holiday of our visually impaired customers and is a unique and incredibly rewarding experience for the guide. It can sometimes be demanding, but it’s also great fun.

Our holidays range from sailing to singing and from city breaks to canoeing – pick your holiday as you would any other.

In return for your valuable assistance the cost of your holiday is subsidised.

Registration

We ask all sighted guides to register with us before booking a holiday. Registration is simple – just download the registration pack on the right of this page and complete and return the registration form.

If you are unable to print the form we are happy to post you a copy instead. You can get in touch by email or phone to request this.

Could you be Vitalise Holidays Representative?

We would like to expand our list of people who are able to work on our breaks as Vitalise Holidays Representatives. Some opportunities are paid and some are voluntary, but all are expenses paid and are a great opportunity to share your skills and experience with a group of like-minded people.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have previously been on our holidays as a sighted guide or have previous experience of working with visually impaired people and have acted as a group or tour leader.
